Windows Agent

User assignment

The agent automatically detects the active Windows user and links them to the corresponding user on the platform.

How it works

The agent reads the Windows username of the active session in the format DOMAIN\user (e.g. COMPANY\alopez).

It extracts the part after the backslash: aplopez.

It searches the platform for a user in the same company whose Windows Username field matches that value.

If a match is found, it automatically links the device to that user and their metrics are attributed correctly.
Automatic user creation

When the agent is installed on a Windows device, if the detected windows_username doesn't exist in the platform, the system automatically creates a user with a username matching the windows_username (e.g. if the Windows user is alopez, the platform username will be alopez) and a provisional email in the format username@company. The employee receives a notification from the agent icon in the Windows taskbar where they can complete their profile — real name, corporate email and their own password — without any admin intervention.

Multi-tenant

Two different companies can have the same Windows username without conflict. The search is always scoped to the device's company.
